(Brantford, ON) On behalf of the partners and staff of Millard, Rouse and Rosebrugh LLP, Martin Dixon, Rob Hooton and Dave Christilaw were proud to present a $67,000 cheque in support of the Twin Pad Complex to Honorary Campaign Co-chairs Walter Gretzky and Jay Wells.
"We are delighted to support this fantastic partnership of the community working together with the federal, provincial and County governments to build this much needed state of the art facility," said Dixon.
Commenting on the fact that $25,000 of the donation came from the firm with the remaining $42,000 being personal contributions from the partners and staff, Councillor Brian Coleman, Chair of the Twin Pad Steering Committee, said, "This is a first for the campaign with participation from both the corporation and all the staff. We hope Millard, Rouse and Rosebrugh’s example will inspire other companies to make a donation in the same way."
Although the head office is located in Brantford, a majority of the partners and many of the staff live within the County limits. "With huge support from the staff, this is an excellent way to demonstrate our longstanding commitment to give back to the communities that we live, work and play in," added Dixon.
Thanking them for their support, Jay Wells said, "It’s exciting to watch the bulldozers working on the site and with donations such as this the Twin Pad will provide many opportunities for the kids." Walter Gretzky added, "Wow $67,000 … that’s impressive."
Acknowledging the important role played by Phil McColeman and Dave Levac who were instrumental in helping to secure the Build Canada funding, County Council for championing the project, the strong leadership of the volunteers in the fundraising campaign and the generous contributions of Davis Fuels and the Frank Cowan Foundation, Dixon concluded, "This kind of landmark sports complex would not happen without the strong commitment from all of these community leaders."
If you would like to make a donation to the campaign, please contact the Campaign Office at 519-442-6324, ext. 3019 or email: fundraising@brant.ca
