Campaign Chair resigns
Roy Haggart announced his resignation as Chair of the Twin Pad Capital Campaign due to additional responsibilities at his full-time position as Ontario Sales Manager for McKenzie Seeds.
(Paris, ON) At last night's Council meeting, Roy Haggart, announced his resignation as Chair of the Twin Pad Capital Campaign due to additional responsibilities at his full-time position as Ontario Sales Manager for McKenzie Seeds.
"A restructured sales model of Ontario is being developed," said Haggart, "and as part of that process, I need to devote additional extended travel, management of National Accounts as well as training / supervision of staff throughout Ontario."
"These changes will have a direct impact on my ability to continue as Chair and be available to the Campaign Committee Members, as well as potential Capital Donors during Corporate business hours."
Councillor Brian Coleman, Chair of the Twin Pad Building Committee, expressed his appreciation for the leadership that Roy provided to the campaign. "Roy's leadership skills, business sense and commitment to recreation and sport helped the campaign raise over $1.5 million and has set the stage for the volunteers to reach the $3.5 million campaign goal."
"I was honoured to lead the campaign and I will continue to promote the Twin Pad Complex and to talk with prospective donors to the best of my ability," added Haggart.
In addition to his position at McKenzie Seeds, Haggart has served his community as an elected Councillor for the Town of Paris and the County of Brant for 24 years, serving a two-year term as Commissioner of Paris Public Utilities and sitting as a member of various committees of Council. He has actively participated in community groups, including being co-chair of the Paris United Way, and past president of the Paris Jaycees and Paris Board of Trade.
Haggart thanked Council, County Staff, the Twin Pad Steering Committee, Members of the Capital Campaign, KCI Staff and Campaign Office Staff for their support and co-operation as Chair during the past four months.
"I can assure you, this project is not a one-person effort," he commented. "Without the support and team effort of all the above, this project would not be where it is today."
