Ayr Farmers Announces Its Support of Two Local Community Projects

Ayr, Ontario - Ayr Farmers Mutual Insurance Company has announced its support for two local community projects those being the Brant County Twin Pad Complex and the North Dumfries Community Centre.

Mike Murdoch, Chairman of the Board for Ayr Farmers, said "Both projects are in the heart of our business area and being a community driven organization we felt a strong desire to provide our moral and financial support. These centers will provide each community with solid recreational bases in which to grow their communities and we wanted to show our support."

In a statement released by the Company they are supporting the projects to a limit of $150,000 each over the next five years. Jeff Whiting, Senior Vice-President of AFM said, "Approximately 40% of the company's policyholder base will have access to the two facilities."

In recognition of their contribution the Brant County Complex will name its 134 vehicle parking lot in honour of the donation while the Ayr Complex will see the ice pad named in honour of the company.

At an event held to mark the occasion, Rob Deutschmann, representing the North Dumfries group, commented "This is the first major gift to the capital campaign and is a leading contribution towards the $1.5 million campaign goal. The Centre for the Community Group ("CCG") is delighted to receive this generous lead donation in our initial phase of the campaign. The entire Live and Play Campaign Directors as well as the community would like to thank Ayr Farmers Mutual for their financial support and generosity of spirit to the community of North Dumfries in taking us one giant step forward in realizing our campaign goal."

Brant County Councillor Brian Coleman, along with Honorary Campaign Co-Chair Jay Wells, were on hand to accept the donation on behalf of the Brant Twin Pad Capital Campaign. Councillor Coleman stated "This is a significant donation from Ayr Farmers Mutual and it is greatly appreciated by the County of Brant. It's companies like Ayr Farmers that are leading the way in making the Twin Pad a great community gathering place." Councillor Brian Coleman is the Chair of the Brant Twin Pad Building Committee.

The AFM Directors, on behalf of all their members, congratulate both groups on their tremendous efforts in making these dreams become a reality.
